No Referral System for Indo- Aus Series

We saw a lot of Wrong Decisions in the Match between India and Sri Lanka recently due to which India lost the game. So, we blame the Umpires for wrong decisions. But, it was available the Tri Series and because India did not want it, it was not used. So somehow India paid the price for not accepting the URDS system. Read the rest of this entry

Sachin Tendulkar’s life can be summed up quite rightly in one sentence. From Tendulkar to Ton-dulkar to End-ulkar to Ton-dulkar again. Such has been his importance to the game that it had be quite an achievement to find an Indian cricketer who says that he has not been inspired by Tendulkar. New Formats for IPL 4

The Indian Premier League saw a disappointing number of spectators mainly because of the longness of the tournament.

We had 8 teams and 60 games this year. Then what do you expect next year? Lalit Modi planned 10 teams and 94 games!!!.Who will watch all 94 games?

SOLUTION:-

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has planned 2 alternative methods credit to NBA.

TWO NEW WAYS:-

  1. 10 teams will be divided into two groups, Each of the groups will follow the current away and home method.  The top 3 teams from each group would proceed to a new League- Super Six. Then, the top 4 teams in Super 6 will go to the semis. Poor thing is that the teams which don’t qualify for Super 6 will get only 8 games.
  2. The 10 teams would still be in two groups. But, here each team would play the other four in its group twice, once at home and once away, it would also play each team from the other group once. The top four teams at the end of this process would then advance to the semifinals. So, here each team gets a minimum of 13 games.

BCCI gets rich with every ball bowled in IPL

The BCCI was just counting in crores and Lalit Modi was just a common before the making of IPL. But now Lalit Modi is world renowned BCCI has no time to count their income.

The greatest spectacle this year is that they are even earning more thanks to new brands signing deals.

Even without the Tournament’s spectator capacity, the Richest board will get rich by Rs.750 Crores this year which is 25% more than last year all because of various deals.

Big Deals with the IPL:-

  • Three-year deals with Internet giant Google worth 80 Crore.
  • General entertainment channel Colors inked in January Rs 100 Crore.
  • Swiss watch brand Banderlier, Karbonn Mobiles, Indiagames, Maxx Mobile, V Rock Mobile, Global Cricket Ventures for merchandising, which collectively are worth at least Rs 125 crore a year.
  • Tyre company MRF, too, joined the IPL brandwagon by sponsoring the blimp, a balloon that floats over the stadium, in a deal said to be worth Rs 15 crore a year.

Ravi Jadeja's appeal rejected

The former Rajasthan Royals Player, Ravindra Jadeja’s appeal against a 1 year ban from the tournament, for talks with other franchises without even updating the contract with Rajasthan Royals has been rejected by the so called Lalit Modi’s team.

Jadeja’s contract already elapsed December last year. Ravi has claimed that he had taken BCCI’s permission to negotiate with other franchises.

An IPL official said-

He (Manohar) did not want to set a wrong precedent, so he dismissed the request. So Jadeja now cannot play in the IPL (this year).

Jadeja received the ban was last month where he was found to have talks with other franchises.

Kris Srikkanth says fire me

The Chairman of Selectors for the Board of Control for Cricket in India has offered resignation and has taken the moral responsibility for the loss of the Indian team.

Srikkanth, who made some surprise by selecting Wriddhiman Saha ahead of Dinesh Karthik made everybody stunned by his decision.  It is obvious of the Zonal Problems. Badrinath and Karthik were already selected in the team so Saha was selected.

Kris in a press interview said that he is ready to be fired by the BCCI and will resign without hesitation.

But, I totally disagree to it. What will a man alone do to make India lose. Saha’s selection was due to Zonal Problems.

If the players don’t play well how can you blame the selectors. Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan, the main bowlers. Did they do anything? No.

Except some batsmen, most of them could’nt do well.

I don’t blame only the players. The opposition was stronger and India lacked experience.

Second ODI shifter to Gwalior

Shocking, hmm. The Second ODI between India and South Africa has been shifted from Kanpur’s Green Park to Gwalior’s Captain Roop Singh Stadium.

However, the BCCI did not give any reasons for the shift.

Sources said UPCA’s unwillingness to pay Rs one crore as rent for holding the second One-dayer at the Green Park Stadium on February 24 and district administration’s refusal to lower the amount led to the shifting of the match.

However, UPCA stated that the sudden shift has come about due to dilapidated state of a spectators gallery at the stadium mainly because of management’s carefree attitude.

The allegation was countered by the Kanpur District Magistrate Anil Sagar who argued that Green Park had hosted a Test match between India and Sri Lanka only three months back and nothing major was to be done on the construction front.

About the renovation work in the stadium, he said that it would have been complete by February 20 and cannot be counted as a reason for the shift.

Sagar said the UPCA is giving lame excuses and all the preparations of the ODI had been completed in advance. Sagar said as per the given rules, the UP government charges Rs one crore for an ODI and Rs 50 lakh for a Test from UPCA and nothing new has been asked from the cricket association this time around.

The BCCI decided to shift the match from here to Gwalior without giving any clear reason.
