Chennai Super Kings ready for a super start

Chennai Super kings is easily the best franchise in the first three seasons of the mega blockbuster T20 event IPL – This statement at least in my eyes does not need any further proving. Anyway let me relate to you CSK’s eventful journey till this season.
In the inaugural IPL season in 2008, CSK started as an obvious favourite owing to its magical skipper MS Dhoni who already had tasted success as the Indian T20 captain in inaugural T20 WC in year 2007. Based on some consistent performances from both the skipper and the young gun Suresh Raina, the Men in Yellow saw themselves battling in the Final which unfortunately did not go their way and they lost by the closest possible margin. Learn Consistency from CSK

Yes, they are. The team emerged into the Indian Premier League in 2008 in a high as MS Dhoni was in the peak of his period along with Muralitharan, the spin wizard and Flamboyant Matthew Hayden being selected in the auction. It was indeed a great IPL for the men in yellow. Stephen Fleming was the opener then along with Hayden. This pair didn’t work a lot but proved vital for the team. Read the rest of this entry

All set to roar at CL T20 2010…
Frankly speaking, Chennai Superkings is reputed to be the most consistent team in the IPL journey so far. It will be much of a surprise if CSK doesn’t continue to pump excitement in our veins in the upcoming mega blockbuster event CL T20 2010 in the rainbow nation. Doug Bollinger, one of the best pacers, roped in by CSK this year, will be playing for Chennai in the Champions League this year and will be a significant asset to the team. India really prepared for 2011?

The last game between India and Sri Lanka saw a very poor performance from the Indian Batsmen. Yuvraj Singh, the highest scorer, scoring 38 runs. When others score, Yuvraj doesn’t score, when Yuvraj scores, others don’t score. India without Sachin Tendulkar+ Gautam Gambhir totally rely upon Virender Sehwag only. Read the rest of this entry

Sehwag out of T20 World Cup

Just a week before the T20 World Cup to kick start,The Indian team has seen a injury- Virender Sehwag, player of DD has injured his shoulders just like what happened last year.

But the selectors have not made the same blunder as they did in the last T20 World Cup. Wiser selection has been done by choosing Murali Vijay, the experienced campaigner and one in the top 5 run scorers in the IPL.

Some of you might think Vijay is a test player and won’t fit in Viru’s aggressive shoes. But, he has been selected because of his superb playing in the IPL this year.

Will he do wonders? Lets wait and see.

Tendu, Viru and Bhajji given a rest

Since the Indians have taken the Micromax Mobile Cup, they seriously are going to experiment in the third and final ODI against South Africa in Ahemedabad by implementing some young lads into the squad.

The selectors have given a rest to the Almighty Sachin Tendulkar(u might be thinking what???). Wished he played and scored another century. Virender Sehwag too has been rested alongside Harbhajan Singh.

So, There will be a new pair of openers for the last one day because Viru and Tendu is rested.

And, Gauti, Yuvi and Zak are not been included in the side as they have not yet recovered from the injury.

Rookie Pacer Abhimanyu Mithun and Tamil Nadu player Murali Vijay have been included in the side.

Vijay and Karthik, both the Tamil Nadu mates will open the innings for the Indian team.

Squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (c), Murali Vijay, Dinesh Karthik, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Sudeep Tyagi, S Sreesanth, R Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Abhimanyu Mithun and Ashish Nehra

Dravid, Yuvraj and Sreesanth out of the first test

Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and S Sreesanth who are nursing from their injuries have been ruled out the first test against South Africa starting on Feb 6th in Nagpur’s VCA.

Even VVS Laxman who was ruled out of the second test match against Bangladesh with a wrist injury has been included in the side as he has been cured.

But, Tamil Nadu Skipper Dinesh Karthik has been removed from the side.

While, S Badrinath has been given a chance in the side with his Ranji teammate Murali Vijay who has cemented his place as the main backs are missing out. Badri among the top six batsman in the squad will surely have a test debut.

It is surprising that Sudeep Tyagi, Abhimanyu Mithun and Wridhiman Saha have been included in the side.

Tyagi is doing well in the domestic circuit and grabbed his opportunity with both hands when he was given a chance in the One Day team.

Newbie Abhimanyu Mithun has been in excellent form in the Ranjis for Karnataka as Mithun was the leading wicket taker in the Ranji Trophy, claiming 47 at 23.23

While, the Bengal Wicketkeeper Wridhiman Saha who has been selected ahead of Dinesh Karthik too has been in fine form scoring 318 runs at 38.75 in the domestic Ranji Trophy competition this season.
