Aussie Lee and Marsh join KXIP camp

After a consecutive three match defeat, the Punjab Kings XI just managed to win a match thriller after a tie of the Super Over against the Chennai Super Kings.

The Sangakkara led Punjab team has just found winning ways and are in high spirits. With the win, to boast the team’s spirit, Brett Lee and Shaun Marsh have arrived in India to join the team.

Just a day before the IPL kicked of, Brett Lee went back to Australia to treat his elbow injury.

Marsh scored 616 runs in IPL 1- 2008 and was the top scorer in the tournament while Lee led the team attack in both 2008 and 2009.

Senior Vice President of KXIP told:-

Lee went to Sydney to get an injection shot on his injured elbow. He is fit and raring to go. He has obtained necessary clearance from Cricket Australia and the final call on whether he will play on Wednesday will be taken on the eve of the match.

Brett Lee went back due to Security Concerns

The Australian Speedster, Brett Lee who was an integral part of the Kings XI Punjab team in IPL 1 and IPL 2 pulled out of the tournament even before the start of it.

Actually, Lee was to miss the starting games because he was suffering from an elbow injury and remain in India to play rest of IPL.

The Veteran had announced his retirement from Test Cricket recently this summer and wanted to concentrate in shorter versions of Cricket- ODI and T20.

He wanted to get back to the T20 World Cup Team and play in T20 World Cup starting April end in the Caribbean Islands by performing well in the Indian Premier League tournament.

But, his manager had told in an Australian Daily that- Lee was preferring to wait in Australia rather than staying in Chandigarh, from a security point of view.

The Kings XI Punjab team are undergoing a disastrous period with a low bowling attack in the IPL 3.
