No Sachin, Dhawan comes in

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the Indian ODI team which will play a 3 One Day Series against the Australians in Kochi, Vishakapatnam and Goa. But the sad news is that, Sachin Tendulakar is being rested yet again. He played his last ODI which we cannot forget and he too won’t, the ODI in Gwalior where he scored a 200 not out.

This time, Shikhar Dhawan is being given a chance to make his debut. While, Ishant Sharma, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have been ruled out with injuries, but Zaheer Khan, Pragyan Ojha and  Harbhajan Singh have been given a rest. So, the team is less in experience with many new faces in.

With the absence of the three usual openers Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag, mostly Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay will occupy their place and open the innings for the Indian team.

Tamil Nadu Off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will be accompanied by Ravindra Jadeja who on Harbhajan’s absence should play an important role for Team India. Praveen Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Vinay Kumar and Munaf Patel are the pacers.

Shikhar Dhawan, has been playing well in the Ranji Trophy and even in the recently concluded Challenger Series. He also opened the innings for Mumbai Indians.

MS Dhoni (capt & wk), M Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Saurabh Tiwary, R Ashwin, Praveen Kumar, Ashish Nehra, Munaf Patel, Vinay Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja, Rohit Sharma
