Gambhir ruled out, Harbhajan doubtful

The Indian Opener, Gautam Gambhir has been ruled out of the third and final test game against Sri Lanka at the P Sara Oval in Colombo. With this major blow for India, the Indian bowling spearhead Harbhajan Singh too is doubtful for the Third test game as he was not fully fit for the practice session.

India already trailing the Series with 0-1, it will be tough task the bowlers as only Harbhajan was the pick of the other lot. Murali Vijay, who scored a fifty in last game, will be retained in Gambhir’s place.

Leg Spinner Amit Mishra will replace Harbhajan Singh in the last test game if he is unfit.

The Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said:-

Gautam is out of the match and Harbhajan is also very doubtful. We will announce the team before the toss

Neither Yuvraj or Raina have opened, so it will be unjustified to place them there,” he said. “We will go in with two specialist openers.

There will be a bit of bounce in it, There is a bit of grass, but the surface looks hard and will have bounce and carry for the bowlers.

It will be tough time for the Indians with the return of Lasith Malinga was was rested for the first two test matches.

The Lankan Captain Kumar Sangakkara said:- “Our focus is on playing good cricket over the five days and put enough pressure on the Indians to take their 20 wickets, which is not easy to do on any surface.”
