The 24 year old devastating opener is back in the team to power the Banglas

The Bangladesh cricket selectors have named the Bangladesh squad for the ongoing Test series against India starting from January 17th in Chittagong.

The selectors have recalled the 24 old Shahriar Nafees into the 14 man squad. He too was named in the team for the Tri Series but unfortunately with the likes of Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes, he had to sit out. He last played his test against the South Africans in 2008 but was removed from the team when he joined Indian Cricket League.

Major set back for the Bangaldeshi is that Mashrafe Mortaza, the leading bowler of their pace attack was left out of the test series as he is suffering from an injury. He too missed the tri series.

Shakib Al Hasan who led the Minnows to a emphatic win in West Indies last year will lead the side in absence of Mashrafe Mortaza.

The selectors too named the uncapped rookie paceman Shafiful Islam in the 14 man squad. The 20 year old, who had debuted in the Tri series, has been named the replacement for Mortaza.

Bangladesh Test squad:

Shakib Al Hasan (capt), Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Raqibul Hossain, Mohammad Mahmudullah, Shahriar Nafees, Shahadat Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Enamul Hossain, Mahbubul Alam, Shafiul Islam.
